I’m A Dad And I Like Pants And Socks.

Whether it’s Father’s Day, a birthday, Christmas or any other occasion where you might buy the men in your life a present, chances are you’ve already thought about pants and socks as the perfect gift.

Before I became a dad I was never bothered about pants and socks but as soon as we had our first it was like someone flicked a switch in my head and I couldn’t get enough of them. I was even asking people to buy me them… on purpose! All of a sudden my pants and socks drawer was overflowing with different colours, styles, patterns and brands. I can’t get enough of them. It’s even got to the point where I’ve stopped buying my own because I know someone will probably get me some soon.

I know what you’re thinking, I’ve thought about this in way too much detail and you’re probably right. I do tend to do that from time to time. My slight pants and socks obsession was peaked when bodybranded.com kindly sent me some very nice Ben Sherman socks and pants to try out and let me tell you, they’re unbelievable. The quality is amazing and they’re so comfy. The pants were lovely and snug too. I like my pants to keep everything where it should be if you know what I mean.

I mentioned it a minute ago that my drawer was over-flowing. The only thing I didn’t mention was, its over-flowing with odd socks and pants that are a little questionable as to whether they’ll last much longer. If I’m honest, I like wearing odd socks! Life is to short for matching socks. It’s too short for matching your socks to your outfit, and I know some people that do that too. Life’s too short for matching socks, especially when you can wear these awesome socks!

Surely it’s not just me who feels this way? Even my kids never wear matching socks. Some of the time, it’s not on purpose. It’s just because I can’t be bothered to make sure the socks go into the wash together. So when it’s time to leave the house and I need to find them some socks, I just grab two from their drawers and just put them on. I mean honestly, who has time for all that when I’m either rushing out of the door to go on the school run or to swimming lessons or because I’m just in a rush in general.

Looking at the positive though it’s just fun to do something different, to ‘mix it up’ a bit. One of the first questions people ask me is ‘What socks are you wearing today?’ and I take great pride in showing them. People might think it’s being lazy or disorganised but I think it’s cool so I’m sticking with it.

Along with aftershave and Lynx gift sets for Christmas, socks and pants are a staple present for any men in your life.

If you’ve got such an occasion coming up then a decent pair of pants or socks such as these ones, I can recommend them from bodybranded.com. They’ll definitely do the trick and your dad, your husband or your boyfriend will be grateful!

*This post, even though it was sponsored by bodybranded.com, it is my honest opinion. Hope you enjoyed it!*

  1. I have wearing socks and collection socks…I only wear M&S socks (always bought by Mother-in-Law) and any of the ‘special’ socks I get go in my sock collection drawer 🙈

  2. Definitely with you on the odd socks – Father Christmas even delivered a box of odd socks for everyone in the family and the mixed Unicorn socks were a particular hit! I’m with you on saving time when getting the washing done and the kids have got used to it – thankfully we’ve been able to make it seem cool too!
We also have ‘stripey pants Friday’ – everyone picks out their favourite stripey pants to wear on a Friday. It started as a way of getting them moving for school (‘IT’S STRIPEY PANTS FRIDAY’) and has somehow become a bit of a family tradition!!!
